The City of Belfast Youth Orchestra has returned to in person full rehearsals for the first time in fourteen months!

Although the Orchestra continued to run online during lockdown restrictions, providing a valuable musical and social outlet to our members, everyone agreed that nothing beats the joy of live music making together.

Staff and students were therefore delighted to come together on the evening of Saturday 12th June at the NI Scout Centre in Crawfordsburn Country Park for an end of Season get together and rehearsal.

The evening commenced with a rehearsal conducted by CBYO Conductor Paul McBride. This was followed by some much needed social time during which everyone enjoyed food served from a mobile catering van.

The evening concluded with the presentation of Sir George Quigley and Stephen Parker Memorial Awards. To find out more about these awards, please visit their relevant sections on this site.

This was a wonderful way to bring everyone together and celebrate the resilience of our young people during the past fourteen months. We would like to thank our President Dr Ronnie Kells, friends at the Flax Trust and Friends of CBSM for supporting the evening.
