Erin Peel - winner of the CBYO in lock down young musician of the year competition
Since our 2019-20 Season was cut short due to Covid-19 we have been running our CBYO in lock down series of events through our Facebook page. These commenced with a virtual version of our annual INSIDE OUT concert, followed by online masterclasses and culminating with our lock down Young Musician of the Year competition
We would once again like to thank our friends at The Flax Trust for their support in running these events. Our competition judges were very impressed by all the entries and it was no easy task to come up with the five finalists!
Each finalist performed on our face book from 8-12th June with the winner being announced on Saturday 13th June (the night we should have been staging our summer concert in the Ulster Hall).
Thank you to all those who entered the competition and congratulations to our five finalists: Rory Small, Tony Cowen, Laoise Corrigan, Harvey Jones and of course our winner Erin Peel.
It is our intention to recommence CBYO rehearsals in September once we have clearance from Education Authority in line with Public Health Agency advice. Current members and new applicants should keep checking in here and on our Facebook page for updated information during the Summer months.
